3/4s Class Ratio

In the Shooting Stars class, we maintain a teacher-to-child ratio of 1:8, creating a balanced environment where children receive personal attention while learning to collaborate and work within a group. This ratio supports school readiness and ensures every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to learn.

Welcome to the Shooting Stars Class (Ages 3–4)

Our Shooting Stars class is a dynamic, engaging space where preschoolers ages 3 to 4 years old thrive through discovery, creativity, and connection. At this stage, children are becoming more independent, expressive, and eager to understand how things work—and our classroom is designed to support that excitement.

What We Do

In the Shooting Stars class, each day includes a balance of child-led exploration and teacher-guided activities. Preschoolers participate in circle time, hands-on learning centers, outdoor play, art projects, music and movement, and early literacy and math activities. Routines provide structure while still allowing plenty of room for creativity and play.

What They Learn

Three- and four-year-olds are rapidly expanding their social and academic skills. In this class, children work on:

  • Early literacy and language development

  • Number recognition, sorting, and patterns

  • Fine motor skills through writing, cutting, and building

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking

  • Social-emotional development like empathy, cooperation, and managing emotions

  • Self-help skills and classroom independence

How They Learn

We follow a play-based, inquiry-driven approach that encourages children to explore their interests, ask questions, and engage in meaningful projects. Learning happens through stories, group games, dramatic play, science exploration, and creative expression. Teachers guide with intention—helping children make connections, build confidence, and prepare for the transition to Pre-K or Kindergarten.

Our Curriculum

The Shooting Stars class uses The Experience Curriculum, which provides a well-rounded, theme-based structure that integrates literacy, math, science, art, and social-emotional learning. With a focus on whole-child development, the curriculum gives children a strong foundation for school readiness while keeping learning fun, relevant, and hands-on.

In the Shooting Stars class, children shine as they grow into confident, capable, and curious learners—ready to take their next big steps with joy and enthusiasm.
